With the popularity of the Internet and the development of the broadband technology, education has entered the digital, intelligent and personalized era. The network educational technique is affecting the way of educating and studying intensely. For multimedia teaching and research has become a hot spot. However, the majority of multimedia teaching system is based on C/S or B/S structure, which has server bottlenecks and lacks online interaction. Therefore, this paper mainly studies how to apply the P2P technology in the multimedia teaching field. Through the platform, teachers and students can cooperate with each other.The four kinds of the P2P network structures are analysed, then proposes a Hybrid Network Model based on super peers, studies and designs one multimedia network teaching system based on the P2P technology. The system contains three main functional modules: login management, cooperation management and curriculum managent. Combined with the characteristics of the equal network, the paper proposes the improving strategy to the server and the client, Which focuses on optimizing the client's landing and exiting, Buffer strategy, and the data algorithm. In order to avoid being in the different private network the computer communicate difficulty, the paper proposes reverse link technology and UDP burrow technology based on the DoD communication model. Using the technology of the NAT traversing, client can pass through the NAT by the help of the middle server, establishes the P2P talk, and communicates directly.In the paper designs and realizes a multimedia teaching system which contains function module like user login, text transmission, and remote control and so on, also designs the transmission interface based on Streaming Media. This system decreases the network bandwidth and the capacity of server requirements obviously, and easy to deploy, expand, at the same time supports the number of users increased greatly.
