Wireless sensor networks are open architecture, and hence any potential enemy can easily intercept, eavesdrop and falsify information. So the security of WSN is very important in this open environment. By making a deep analysis of many security systems, based on the inherent characteristics of wireless sensor networks, a new layered key management scheme for WSN is proposed in this dissertation. All of research results can be described as follows:(1) The hybrid cryptosystem is used to achieve secure communication in WSN. A single cryptosystem can not meet the secure requirements of WSN. So the secure identity-based encryption algorithm and fast symmetric encryption algorithm are applied to encrypt the symmetric key and sensor data respectively. It brings into full play the advantages of these two kinds of cryptography to achieve the purpose of avoiding weaknesses.(2) The trust management mechanism is introduced in the proposed scheme. Trust management mechanism is an important complement to cryptosystem. Through the trust management mechanism to elect a new cluster head, the entire network re-establishes the network topology, and thus the entire network establishes a new communication security link to achieve the purpose of updating the key. It makes the key management scheme have more reliability, security and efficiency.
