| A DLP projection driver circuit board based on TI DDP2230 ASIC is introduced here. First, I describe the key feature of DDP2230, including its powerful ability of video processing and DMD chip controlling; then the hardware block diagram of circuit board is designed: using TVP5146 as Video Decoder; TVP7001 as ADC; DDP2230 as controller; PMD1000 and DAD1000 as power management and DMD driving; and working with other peripheral components to build a whole electronic circuit. Finally, I use the software tool of TI (DLP composer) to debug the electronic circuit : setting the parameters for some chips, changing the value of some registers, etc; my target is to make the best performance of projection when this circuit board is used on DLP projector. Otherwise, I add some extended functions onto this DDP2230 board by making some changes on software and hardware.First, I add Tuner driving program into the system software of DDP2230 to generate a function of TV signal searching for DDP2230 circuit board. I use PHILIPS FQ1216ME_MK3 as tuner to receive PAL TV signal which controlled by IIC bus of DDP2230, then the output of tuner is CVBS signal to TVP5146 , TVP5146 will decode this TV signal to DDP2230.Second, I use the function of slicing the VBI information from the video signal in TVP5146 to accomplish VCHIP function for DDP2230 circuit board. Through executing the estimation of VCHIP information in program, the circuit board can perform whether to shielding the display.Third, I design hardware connection diagram between the DDP2230 and SCART interface to make this DDP2230 circuit board to receive the signals from SCART interface and accomplish"OVERLAY Display"function.All these extended functions don't need big change on hardware circuit, basically I used the resources that I already have, but these functions make this DDP2230 circuit board to be used not only in commerce market, but also in consumption market. |
