Material supply in enterprises is normally very diverse and complicated. Due to many kinds of material, there are many differences in the channels of order, managing and delivering. Management systems in every enterprise is different and such complicated factors as different statistic and plan report exist, thus the management to the material for enterprises becomes very difficult. In order to manage better, it is very necessary to develop computer management software to manage material information. This will greatly reduce labor intensity, improve efficiency of management of enterprises material information, and provide smoothness and convenient service to the work of other department. Therefore, to develop a useful warehouse information management system is very important to realize computerization of enterprise material.Management system is what we usually call MIS, it is becoming more and more popular and applied in the modern society that management and information are emphasized. MIS is a new science which spans several fields, for example, management science, system science, operational research, statistics and computer science. Based on these subjects, information collection and processing method is formed, a management system which is interlaced is shaped. Management information system is also a man-machine system which uses computer's soft and hard resources, manual work, analysis, plan, control and decision making module and data base. It can provide information to support enterprises or organization operation, management and decision making. Warehouse information management system is to process and coordinate large amount of materials information and form a statistic data management system which meets managers requirement. The special features of warehouse information management system is that the processing quantity is very big, the materials and devices that are managed is much, and due to in-store note, out-store note, and request note is very big in amount, the related information is much, searching and statistic method is different. Therefore, at a certain extent, there is some difficulties. There will be many such problems as repeated delivery of information, many kinds of notes and reports, and management rules of each department are different. This system, by overcoming the above problems, is to realize the systematization, standardization and automatization of enterprises materials and devices management, to obtain the goal of improving the efficiency of material management.In order to obtain such goals, analysis is carefully made to the system requirement, the following functions are come to conclusions to the warehouse information management system:1. Input of different kinds of information of warehouse management, including input of in-store, out-store, return-store, and requirement information.2. Researching, modification and maintenance of all kinds of information of the warehouse management.3. Creation of device purchasing report.4. Adding maximum and minimum field in the warehouse management and to monitor and give an alarm to the materials in the warehouse.5. Material requirement management of each department in enterprise.6. Management of operation log.7. User's guide of the warehouse information management system.After comparing advantages and disadvantages of many development tools, Visual FoxPro6.0 is considered and selected as the system development tools. Based on system analysis, considering features of Visual FoxPro6.0 program composition, functional requirement which is requested by the system, the following modules are developed:1. Function selection interfaceThe main function of this module is, as the main interface of the system, to provide a selection interface when entering the system.2. Device in-store moduleDevice data appending and in-store function will be realized in the device in-store module.3. Device out-store moduleDevice data appending, inventory modification, out-store functions will be realized in the device out-store module.4. Device return-store moduleDevice data appending, inventory modification, return-store functions will be realized in the device return-store module.5. Device requirement moduleDevice requirement data appending, keeping of log functions will be realized in the device return-store module.6. Device purchase moduleDevice purchase data appending, keeping of log functions will be realized in the device return-store module.7. Report display moduleIn this module, 3 reports, which separately provide insufficiency of inventory, excessiveness of inventory and operating log, will be displayed.By designing and realizing the above function modules, high efficient warehouse information system management is basically realized. This realizes modernization and high efficiency to the enterprise warehouse management, provides enterprise's managers and leaders a convenient and easy management tool, reduces labor cost and increases enterprise's profits.
