With the rapid development of the technology of the integrated and intelligent sensor, micro-electro-mechanical system and network communication, wireless sensor network comes into being, which is a new technology of information processing. It has got a lot of attention in the international arena since it is being, and it is considered one of the most important technologies during the 21st century. Wireless sensor network operating system (WSNOS) is one of the supportive technologies of the system. The underlying platform of WSNOS is an important technology, which combines the operating system and application software with the hardware of the operating system. And memory management of WSNOS can protect the reasonable allocation of the system resources, which ensures the reliability of the system.At present, the WSN research focuses on the communication protocols, power management, positioning algorithm and architecture design. But it is a relatively small to study the wireless senor network operating system, and says nothing of the underlying platform. So there will be a broader space to study the underlying platform of WSNOS. Secondly, in memory management, embedded operating system does not like the traditional operating system, Windows and Linux, which have the perfect memory management mechanism. Because of its limited resources and low-cost, there will be lots of difficulties and challenges to study the memory management.The content of this paper mainly roots in the project of the National Natural Science Foundation. And this paper mainly studies the underlying platform and memory management of the WSNOS. Firstly, it introduces the developmental actuality and basic theory of WSN and WSNOS. In this paper we expatiate on the underlying platform of WSNOS and the configuration of DMA channels. Moreover we achieve the drivers of the two data transfer modules. Secondly, we bring forward the new data structure according to the method of the memory management ofμC/ OSII. And according to the new data structure, we achieve a better mechanism of memory allocation and recovery. Finally, we achieve the control platform of human-computer interaction. And we test the functions of the operating system, according to the system testing of the operating system.
