According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children enjoy four basic rights, i.e., survival rights, protection rights, development rights and participation rights. Children's rights are their basic human rights. And for every child, enjoying those rights is the premise and guarantee for the pursuit of a better life. To protect children's rights, we must raise the moral standards of the whole society, optimize the customs, and seek for efforts from every aspect of social forces. However, the current situation of the protection of children's rights is not so much optimistic. The infringing from mass media is a typical example. Among them, the negative influence of some television shows and inappropriate interviews and reports on disaster relief is the most prominent. Paying attention to the theme about the infringing upon children's rights from mass media is significant in many aspects. It not only helps to guide people to be acutely aware of how television media violating children's rights, but also arouses and strengthens people's awareness of protecting children's rights. Besides, it encourages people to see children as children, let children look like children, and let children become the true children. The study adopted secondary analysis to collect data, and used typical method to analyze the two typical"media figures", Alpha and Lang Zheng. The study discussed the possible benefits of children's participating in television media simply. Most importantly, it argued for the defects of television media from the view of children's rights. It see children as entertainment dolls and props, so violate their participation rights; it mislead children's mental health and concept of values, so violate their development rights; it imposed"second injury"on children, so violate their protection rights. The thesis also probed on the mentality of parents and society for children's participating in television media. Finally, the researcher proposed some rational thinking, including letting children be children; respecting children's rights truly; following the principle of best interests for the child; awakening the moral conscience of the adult and enhancig children's own senses of the protection of rights.
