The Conceptual Model (CM) Verification and Validation (V&V) is one of the most important phases in the process of Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A). It holds the balance in the reliability evaluation on the Simulation System. Research on the CM V&V is developing well nowadays, but it is a pity that it is still on the level of theory guiding. So how to verify and validate the CM described by a modeling language becomes desideratum. Studying on the V&V technologies of the CM described by UML, this dissertation researches on how to evaluate the CM.Firstly, the V&V process of the CM described by UML is established: with the target of ensuring the integrality, correctness, coherence and consistency of the CM, the V&V content is fixed by analyzing the CM components and the UML models in each component; and methods are selected from the existings or researched if needed for V&V on the CM content. Then, the Executable Validation, difficulty in the V&V methods is researched and mappings from UML dynamic models to the Petri Net are established: existing mappings are studied in-depth, and the mapping constructed by Saldhana and Shatz is adopted for transforming the Statechart Diagram to the Petri Net. The mapping algorithm based on messages is constructed to solve the problem of traceability analysis in the existing mappings for Sequence Diagram transforming to the Petri Net, so is it for the new controlling structure in the UML 2.0. Finally, the CM of the Paper Transmitting Operation Flow is verified and validated with the V&V process established in the dissertation, which validates the rationality and feasibility of the process.
