With scientific and technological progress and economic globalization, the self-service faces significant challenge and competition, which is being aggravated day by day. Under this background, the self-service system has already become one of the magic weapons for victory in the market full of fierce challenge and competition among large telecommunication corporations. The research of this paper concentrates on the design and implementation of Self-service system, which is based on the three-layer C/S structure.Firstly, based on the introduction of self-service system used in telecommunications at home and abroad presently, the paper analyses the demand of function and technology, mainly elaborates the traits of C/S, UML is also used to set up the visual model of the whole structure of this system .Secondly, taking the goal and the principle of design as the foundation, the whole structure and logic structure are studied. According to logic design of the whole system, the self-service system has been divided into the self-service terminal, the self-service server, the monitor system, the interface of BOSS system (Business Support System of Operator) and local database, and the core is the self-service server. The paper mostly expatiates on the concurrency and synchronization of the server. The share lock of MFC was used for the synchronization of thread to avoid the disaster in concurrency, and the implementation of self-service has been described by the multithreading. Meanwhile according to the need of application, the paper has designed and carried out the local database and the monitor system. Finally, the self-service system has obtained good effect, but deficiency of system was found. The paper brings out the thought of improvement. When telecommunication has already practically applied the system, the system has effectively alleviated their service pressure, and improved the service quality. The success of the self-service business forecasts that the self-service will be the main forces in telecommunication in the future.
