Research And Application Of VPN Technology In The Building Of Shandong Sci. & Tech. Literature Resources Platform

Scientific and technical literature resources are strategic national resources and an important support of national technological innovation. In 2004,our country issued "2004-2010 Construction Outline of the scientific and technical basic condition platform ". The outline indicates that we must build our supporting system of scientific and technical basic conditions which meets the needs of scientific and technical innovation and development. At present ,our country has launched a number of construction projects about the scientific and technical basic condition. For example, "National Science and Technology Library" has been put into operation.In 2006, Shandong Provincial Government issued "the Outline of Medium- and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan "The outline clearly points out that shandong must focus on the construction of scientific and technical basic condition , optimize the allocation of resources and improve the ability of scientific and technological innovation. The Department of Sci.&Tech. of Shandong Province established a major project about the construction of scientific and technical basic conditions. And "the construction of Shandong Sci.& Tech. Literature Resources Platform" is a sub project of this major project .In the sub project ,we integrate the scientific and technical literature resources, built the cooperative security system and express delivery service system , improve the utilization rate of literature resources.In this paper, we firstly introduce the master plan of Shandong Sci.& Tech. Literature Resources Platform. Secondly introduce the definition, classification, choice of VPN product. Thirdly introduce the technology of IPSec and the advantages of IPSec, especially study the principle and system of IPSec, the role of IKE in IPSec, the relationship between IPSec and IKE. Fourthly analyse the realization methods of IPSec VPN and create a practical IPSec VPN. Finally introduce the technical parameter and the performance of the VPN firewall using in the network and test the network to verify its praticality and validity.
