Application And Construction On Teaching Knowledge Based On Ontology

With the expanding application of information technology and computer science in education areas, college classroom teaching styles have changed accordingly. It is of great significance, also of great necessity, to establish a reusable, sharing, and exchangeable conceptual model of teaching area in facilitating students' more individualized learning, and at the same time, providing a content standard for educational professionals.In this paper, the basic concept of ontology, the classification of it, the feature of it, the ontology description language (OWL), its application on databases, and the construction of ontology is delicately analyzed and studied. From the angle of recognition structure and recognition order of knowledge classification, the regional knowledge itself, recognition structure and the recognition order among knowledge is described comprehensively, along with the classification of knowledge in the field of teaching, especially of the computer graphics.In this paper, the knowledge system in the field of teaching is delicately analyzed, and the model of knowledge system in the field of teaching is established. When building the model of knowledge system in that field, the process of building the knowledge database ontology in scientific field is considered to be a complex semantic network model consisting of the curricular structure, the knowledge point ontology in subjects and the learning resources ontology. The curricular structure is of the tree type, equivalent to the index part of a dictionary; the knowledge point in subjects is of the network structure, equivalent to the body of a dictionary; the learning resources ontology is the standardized description to the whole learning resources of it. An example of learning resource is mapped onto the correspondent concept or knowledge points via source data. Meanwhile, the ontology of computer graphics is built by the skeleton method, and the tutor ontology is delicately described by adopting the OWL developed by the W3C organization.Finally, the semantics-searching prototype system is developed on the basis of ontology database for computer graphics having been built. The building principle, workflow and method of developing are studied. Through the analysis when running the system, the experimental system based on the semantics-searching performs better in its searching integrity and accuracy than the traditional one which is based on key words.
