With the development of science and technology, we are capable of watching provincial satellite TV programmes of all provinces. In the meantime, audiences have more choices with the diversification of TV programmes. At present, all provinces pay special attention to the development of golden period, however, the development is restricted by factors of all kinds because three hours is not long enough to present all the characteristics. As a result, the period coming after the golden period becomes another area to be explored. According to statistics, period between 10 to 12 p.m. ranks 4th compared with other periods, which means there is still plenty of room for the development of that period. This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is a proposal to the idea of sub-golden period and an explanation to the advantages to that period. Based on the audiences of sub-golden period, the second part uncovers the characteristics of sub-golden period programmes. Part three tries to analyse and find out the existing problems in the system of sub-golden period. And the last part makes a conclusion on the potential promise and ways to carry out the ideas. Hopefully, the ideas, which can be applied directly to the arrangement of TV programmes, will be of great help to the development of TV media and therefore draw more attention from TV makers. Still, it is hoped that the resources of TV programmes can be used effectively and the impacts can be extended and the waste should be avoided.
