"comprehensive highway traffic management computer network systems (CHTMCNS)" which I was involved in can detect the speed of highway vehicles unmaned, collect and store peccancy data automaticly, query, manage and maintain the peccancy information by the computer network. They have the characteristics of low-cost, easy-installment and non-interference to the environment. The systems have effectively restrained the phenomenon of speeding, which brought about social and economic benefits.However, the systems have a relatively simple functionality, poor scalability, and are propitious to the second development. So a traffic information monitoring platform is designed to deal with the problems which mentioned above, the platform is based on the popular Agent technology and can effectively monitor various highway traffic violations, and it can dynamically increase functionality according to demands (for instance: the change of the number of lane, increasing a function of overloading dete ction, etc.), with good scalability, high intelligence.First of all, I participated in the development of a "comprehensive highway traffic management computer network systems"and put forward a universal model for measuring the speed of the motor vehicle by video which can be adapted to complex environment of traffic. The model has been divided into three sub-issues: time computation, the obtainment of actual coordinates corresponding to coordinates of the image, the detection and track of vehicle, some improvements have been made in the algorithm of the elimination of the shadow.Secondly, an architecture of comprehensive traffic information monitoring platform based on Agent is brought forward, each module in the transport system has been packaged into autonomous, intelligent and collaborative Agent, furthermore, the internal structures of various Agent with different functions or at different levels are designed.Third, the communication mechanism and protocol among Agents are devised, by which various Agents with different functions or at different levels can be organized to an organic multi-Agent system; Fourth, the effectiveness of platform—comprehensive traffic information monitoring platform based on Agent is validated through the simulation based on Agent development platform—JADE which I choosed.
