In recent years, P2P video-on-demand industry is booming, which provides the immediately -play video viewing mode without waiting for the process of downloading.lt brings revolutionary change to the old video viewing mode. To reduce the pressure on the server,C/S structure of video-on-demand system introduced P2P data transfer technologies, which is named P2P video-on-demand,P2P data transfer technologies substantially increases download speeds, enhancing the quality of the player.P2P video-on-demand client is responsible for storing data and controlling playback. Data storage strategy and control strategy are known as the cache mechanisms. The cache mechanism is the core of the client, which plays direct impact on the playing fluency, thus affecting playing quality. In this paper, the following studies are carried out:First of all, the analysis of the factors that affectes the play quality. From the point of view that whether the urgent data the player needed is satisfied, the factors which affected the playing quality are explored and deeply analyzed in order to illuminate the importance of cache mechanism to the playing quality.Secondly, poses the strategy of caching mechanisms of the subject. Analyzes of traditional video-on-demand caching mechanism's principle, analyzes the reasons for why the traditional caching mechanism dose not apply the subject .then, poses mechanisms of resources pre-caching mechanism , explaines its principles and key technologies.Then, programes of the pre-caching mechanisms of the subject,testes the play fluency. According to test results, analyze cache mechanism's impact on playing quality, so that the value of caching mechanisms that the subject put forward can be proved.
