The Design And Implementation Of Project "Digital RUC (Renmin University Of China)" Educational Administration System

On the basis of the study and analysis of the web service models, the thesis advances the implementation of technical measures of higher education administration through the utilization of the web service. The author elaborates on implication of the credit system, the main pattern in the higher educational administration and then discusses the inevitable tendency to the computerized educational administration. After comparing the features of different frameworks, based on the years of software developments, the author puts forward the design and the implementing scheme.The author discusses the main techniques of the implement of B/S structure based on Java architect. He also elaborates on the technical solutions, the system design, the important techniques and the solution details of the web-based educational administration. The main content includes:1. On the account of the deficiencies of the original single C/S structure, the system combines B/S structure with C/S structure, with the B/S structure as its main frame work. The user, the typical thin-client, resorts to the browser to function. The system employs the latest technical solutions—J2EE Architect developed by the Sun Corporation, with Apache as the WEB Server, Tomcat as the Container of JSP, JavaBeans as background components which together with DBMS such as Oracle comprises an integrated solution combining the foreground the and the background.2. The foreground functions of the system include: 1) Inquiring on line the latest educational administration information.2) Inquiring such information as course selection, students' academic achievements, results of CET4 and CET6. students' timetables, teachers' skills, teachers' timetables, teacher's roll books.3) Students' selecting courses before the time limited. 4) Students' evaluation on the teaching quality.3. The background functions of the system include: Based on the various roles played by colleges, departments, faculty of enrollments, educational administrative section, teacher affairs departments and different clerks in the educational administration information center, the system can fulfill the following functions: arranging teaching tasks, planning timetables, inquiring students' records, inquiring and modifying teaching loads, inquiring information of classrooms and laboratories, modifying information of timetables and classrooms, inquiring information of teaching departments, courses and teaching plans, administration of courses, teaching, classrooms, laboratories, teaching faculties, students records, course selection, exam room selection, graduation and degree and so on.4. The system administrators are entitled to users' administration, setting access rights, information notices, parameter setting and maintenance of database.5. The author is mainly focus on the analyzing and designing of courses and teaching plans management, classroom resources management and exam management.The project has been applied to the practice of educational administration in RENMIN University of China now.
