Establishment And Implementation Of Measurement Framework Based On CMMI Level3

More and more issues are raised during software development according to the fast improvement of software necessary. Thus, the implementation of quantitative SPI (Software Process Improvement) is required by software organization. Measurement is an effective and important tool for SPI. Software organization could use data to find the chance of SPI, and evaluate the process capability when SPI implement. Measurement is also better for project management process. It could manage the project activities in whole life cycle, evaluate the feasibility of project plan, and monitor project progress. Measurement could ensure the visibility of project process, and provide information for project management.Measurement is an activity which needs large effort and cost. Thus, It is an study focus for software organization on how to establish measurement framework and define metrics according to organization's business model and goal.In this paper, I studied lots of MA related material from internal and external industry or seminar to establish the measurement framework for company based on CMMI Level3 and GQM (Goal-Question-Metrics) method, to use SPC (Statistic Process Control) method and Prediction Model for data analysis, and to develop a tool to collect data automatically.
