One object of this island and coastal zone investigation is landform. Satellite remote sensing technology is used to investigate coastal zone landform explicitly for the first time. With the development of science and technology, many subjects supported by landform can be digital computed and simulated, which requires results of coastal zone landform must be objective and numerical. Traditional remote sensing analysis concept of landform investigation will not become the guiding ideology, but will be the bottleneck. To explore new methods of landform analysis is inevitable. In this paper, the departure point is a method, of which quantitative analysis is the main, qualitative analysis is combined. With multi-source data, to construct the coastal zone DEM, as a basis, the coastal zone landform analysis method is developed.Relative DEM and absolute DEM are generated using ASTER stereo image. The accuracy of results are evaluates. Satellite difference GPS technique can obtain high precision GCPs, which can improve the success rate of image matching significantly. The absolute DEM can be used to 1:100 000 scale landform analysis.Submarine DEM is constructed using the optimal spatial interpolation of depth points. Different interpolation methods will give rise to different error, this paper, nine kinds of interpolation methods are compared, and the tension spline interpolating reaches the highest accuracy. After reference correction, submarine DEM is constructed.Laoshan Bay as an example, the coastal zone landform digital analysis method is development based on the above two types of DEM. First of all, the coastal zone landform classification system is improved, and intertidal zone landforms classification methods is tested firstly based on slope. Finally, 1:100 000 scale free division range landform result of Laoshan Bay is obtained.
