The video monitoring system characterized by intuitionistic view and detailed content is widely applied in the domains of security, production, and etc. And with the increasing developments in the embedded technology, the communication technology and the multimedia technology, the embedded remote video monitoring system becomes the focus of research and development.The embedded remote video monitoring system mainly captures, encodes and transits the local video information. Using high-speed digital multimedia process chip TMS320DM642, a multiple DSPs remote video monitoring system is designed in this paper, which has the functions of multiple channels high-speed video capture and highly effective coding compression. The system transmits the video data based on industry Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol.The basic principle and the hardware structure of the system are briefly analyzed in the thesis. The part of the software design on this system is mainly described. Through the research on the design means of TI DSP software, the peripheral driver and video capture program module based on DDK, and the video transition program module based on NDK are designed on the CCS2.2 platform, which realize the video real-time capture and remote transition function. On the basis of the macrocosm research of the H.264 video encoding arithmetic, the H.264 arithmetic is successfully transplanted into the platform of DM642 DSP, combined with the program modules of the video capturing and network transition, realize the functions of remote video monitoring. The multiple DSPs communication is researched in this thesis, and the design theme of the software is presented about multiple DM642 communication. Meanwhile, the optimizing of the DSP software is deeply researched. The optimizing theme of the software on this platform is provided, which enhanced the real-time performance much.The embedded remote video monitoring function is realized in this thesis. Otherwise the video real-time display software of monitoring center is designed using the Directshow technology on VC++ environment, which realized the functions of receiving, decoding and displaying for the remote video monitoring data. The function from the remote video monitoring to real-time display of the monitor center is realized in this paper, which will be the basis of the system upgrade, software optimization in the fiiture.
