| With the rapid development of computer technology, the technology of CAD/CAPP/CAM has been applied widely. It becomes a problem to be solved imminently to integrate and share the information among the three systems. The only way to solve the problem is to build a complete standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data which can be used by all the CAX systems. STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data), established by ISO, is an international standard for the expression and exchange of product data. The STEP provides a data model which can express the data in the whole life of the product. Now, STEP has used extensively in the data exchange between CAD/CAPP/CAM, which is better than the other standards for the Exchange of Product Model Data. During actualization of manufacturing information, the network technology must be applied. The unlimited integration and sharing of product data are required through Internet. STEP can become the bridge between designing and manufacturing. At the same time, XML is the carrier of product data in the net. The product information can be saved while CAD system output STEP files according to the demands of manufacturing. Thus the product information can be shared during the manufacturing process. By transforming, according to the certain standard, XML Schema base can be set up. The product data saved and expressed in the STEP file can be stored and existed in XML file. It can be realized with XML to transform data through Internet.And by improving the way of transforming between STEP and XML documents and add the feature recognition module into it. CAD part STEP files will be processed, then we can get the part information model based on feature. The part information model can be transformed XML documents which include part information.Sharing part information based on internet become realizable. It takes a kind of effective way of network-based information pulishing and sharing for the technology of networked manufacturing. |
