With the progress of micro-electronic technology, large-scale integrated circuit and signal processing technology, infrared imaging technology has been development rapidly in recent decades. Because of its high reliability, low power consumption, small size and can be operated all the time, this technology is getting widely used in the field of military and civilian. However, non-uniformity between the detectors in focal plane array and bad point problem are still the main constraint of infrared imaging quality. A high-speed infrared imaging system based on the framework of DSP and CPLD is designed and real-time image correction and enhancement are achieved in this paper.In terms of hardware, first of all, the working principle of the infrared imaging system is researched and the integrated formula is designed based on the actual need. Then, designs a kind of high-speed processing circuit, and analyzes the principle and realization of each module in the circuit. Final, designs the serial communication module between the infrared imaging system and PC machine. Through serial communication port, PC machine can make the infrared imaging systems to achieve non-uniformity correction, bad point correction, switching field of view, focusing and other operations.In terms of software, the non-uniformity correction algorithm, bad point correction algorithm and image enhancement algorithm of the infrared image are researched in-depth. A kind of composite non-uniformity correction algorithm is presented based on one point correction algorithm and two point correction algorithm. And a bad point correction algorithm with sliding window is presented. In image enhancement, taking into account of the low resolution of the infrared images, as well as the effect of infrared imaging can not be too demanding, so the common histogram equalization and sharpening enhanced airspace are focused.Finally, achieves the software programming and hardware-software co-debugging with the infrared imaging system, and has a satisfied result of the infrared image processing.
