The Doppler velocity measurement radar system, which attains the target's relative velocity by picking up the Doppler frequency of the reflected wave for target, plays an important role in target's characteristic; target's locking trace and missile's security control. Based on the C band velocity measurement radar system, the solid state transmitter for this system is studied in this paper.According to the technical requirement of C band velocity measurement radar system, the scheme of master oscillator amplifier transmitter is adopted, which mainly consists of the master oscillator source and the solid power amplifier.The dielectric resonance oscillator (DRO) is adopted as the master oscillator source, which offers the transmitter the stable oscillator frequency. The structure of the parallel connection feedback is employed in the design of DRO, based on the analysis of the dielectric resonator and oscillator. The structure design and circuit simulation accomplished by the way of two ports S-parameter analysis. The DRO is manufactured and measured, and the results agreed with the design requirement.The solid power amplifier adopts the structure of the 3 steps amplify link. Based on the analysis of the operation principle for power amplifier, the matched circuit and basis circuit are designed by the way of bilateral design. The front small power amplifier and the large power amplifier are designed, simulated and optimized by Microwave Office software and Smith chart step by step. The measured results account to the design requirement.Finally, the application of this kind of transmitter in the C band velocity measurement radar is introduced briefly. The well precision of the velocity measurement and the distance measurement are got.
