Visual simulation is an important part of virtual reality, and it is in the front area of computer technology. The basic theory is display the unvisual data in figure, using specific approach to obtain information in three-dimension. In this way, it can improve the efficiency greatly. As a display platform technology in virtual reality application, visual simulation can provide well real-time display quality for virtual reality application, and make strong visual impulse to people. Currently, it is widely used in many fields referring to space information, such as military defense, aerospace, city planning, transport, water resource, building architecture, upholstery, etc.However, traditional visual simulation system has its own problem. First, it lacks of the ability in implementation of detailed space analysis function and in exactly describing space position of bodies. Second, it cannot realize simultaneous continuous zooming according to motion pattern in both two-dimension and three- dimension.To resolve these problems, the paper contributes mainly on the following aspects.1. Using space analysis method, the space geometry relation and space position relation have been researched. In space geometry relation, the analysis of buffer and overlap is presented. Focusing on network analysis, the Dijkstra algorithm and Floyd algorithm are compared. It improves the Dijkstra algorithm according to visual simulation's features, and realizes the space analysis function of the shortest route in Skyline. In space position relation, according to the system requirement of reflecting macro scene, it proposed the approach to describe body's relative position using comprehensive distance and direction. Further, the procedure to display relative position is presented.2. It provides two-dimension digital map and the mechanism of three-dimensional scene synchronism zooming. The height change of motive entity in three-dimensional interface is used to make sure the occasion of continuous zooming in the two-dimension digital map. Determine the selection of three-dimensional scene by changing the flat-right angle coordination to three-dimensional earth coordination. Then, according to the shortage in synchronism continuous zooming display, the solution is presented.3. A missile attack visual simulation system which integrates geographic data is designed and implemented . Because of military need, the plan of module division is provided. The ArcGIS based two-dimension module , Skyline based three-dimensional scene module, and Vega based visual simulation module are designed, and implemented in practice. Finally, the original system is realized.
