With the development of communication technology,the demanding in relation to communication bandwidth,access speed,the quality of services available and the cost-effective communications networks have become increasingly.Radio Over Fiber(ROF) technology came into being to meets the urgent need for the the merits of a technology above.ROF system structure can be simplified with Microwave photon generator technology used to reduce the construction costs.ROF has very good prospects in expanding communication bandwidth.The primary achievements in this paper are as follows:1.First of all,the paper summarizes microwave photonic occurred millimeter wave technologies and ROF technology.Then emphatically analyzes some commonly methods of millimeter-wave generation and ROF technology system structure.And then the paper focuses on theoretical analysis of optical heterodyne and Fiber Bragg Grating technology with the basic principles of frequency-selective.2.A new microwave photon generator based on the new structure of double-grating frequency-selective method for the selection of the microwave photons was proposed,and applied for the patent of invention(Publication Number: CN101382624).High-frequency millimeter-wave signals could be got by using the method of mixing heterodyne then filtering.Electronic bottleneck can be broke through in this way.After analyzes of the downlink models,data rate 2.5Gb/s in single channel could be transmitted 55km without relay.3.A millimeter-wave microwave structures based on single sideband modulation was also studied in this paper.A theoretical analysis model and a simulation model have been given out.This paper studied a millimeter-wave generator based on polarization mode dispersion,especially parameters of light source and difference of MZ interferometer arms.The conclusion that the phase relationship of beat frequencies is not a influence factor for RF signal we got.4.This paper proposed a new full-duplex ROF system based on the design and analysis of a microwave photon generator,and applied for the patent of invention (Publication Number:CN101420270).The full-duplex ROF system suppresses attenuation caused by chroma dispersion by using single sideband modulation.By using the anti "symbol walk-off" technology,compare with SSB format, transmission distance was expanded by 2.5~3 times.Wavelength reusing for up-link and down-link was achieved by using grating frequency-selective approach.The scheme has been proved very effective through simulation analysis by simplifying base station and reducing the system cost.After analyzes of the downlink models, data rate 10Gb/s in single channel could be transmitted 35km without relay.
