The past years has witnessed the intensive development of the Fiber Grating as a kind of passive optic device. For their unique spectral can satisfy the potential need of optic fiber communication system and optic fiber sensor system, the special gratings with more complexes refraction index distribution have already become the focus of research. In this thesis the uniform titled fiber Bragg grating and the phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating were study with special attention, some useful results were obtained through numerical simulation and experiments.In the theory study part, the couple mode theory and transmit matrix method were briefly introduce at first, then they were used to analysis some kinds of the special fiber Bragg gratings. The uniform titled fiber Bragg grating and the phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating were investigated in detail: The relationship between the tilt angle and the grating spectral, and how the phase shift location and the phase shift angle affect the phase-shifted grating were studied.In this thesis a lot of attention was also paid on how to produce the uniform titled fiber Bragg grating and the phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating. In the experiments, the uniform titled fiber Bragg gratings with very title angle were fabricated. A new method named local fiber temperature modulated method was invented to fabricate phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating. And a related patent was applied for this method.Some experiments about fabricating FBG in active fiber were also mentioned in this paper. The FBG on the Er3+-doped fiber was made successfully, and they were used to construct the DBR fiber laser. The green fluorescence side illuminated by the laser was studied in detail based on the spectral analyses and several useful results were obtained.
