Underground communication system is the essential facilities of safety protection and production scheduling. Because of abominable underground environment, poor distribution of roadway, and interfere with the signal source, the coal mine adopt cable as major method of communication. Wireless communication technology, as a beneficial supplement in the coal mine communication and monitor, begin to get widespread application. Wireless Local Area Networks(WLAN) technology as one kind of a short distance radio communications technology, which has the advantages of large coverage and could achieve wireless Ad hoc network,has broad prospects for development.Wireless transceiver what the thesis study is the bridge of data transmission between under the mine and above the mine in the Shearer Monitoring System, it is in charge of data collection and communication between the shearer monitoring module and the monitoring center, which syncretizes of embedded technology and WLAN technology, is the development of Shearer Monitoring System hotspot now and in the future. This paper starts with the background and meaning of wireless transceiver, and analyzes the key role of wireless transceiver in shear control communication system. According to the deficiency of previous design, new design thinking is put forward: (1) Designs the model of Wireless transceiver which based on IEEE802.11, adopting WLAN and RS485; (2) Selecting ARM9 chip S3C2410X as the main processor, through the RJ-45, the Ethernet controller chip is driven and the TCP/IP communication is realized. The communication between wireless transceiver and Shearer Monitoring System is realized through the inner RS485 controller of ARM; (3) The design of software based on Embedded Operating System Linux is proposed. The design of software contains two parts, hardware driver program and system task. Driver program include the realization process of each module. The realization process of Linux which is transplanted to the project is researched in detail. The TCP/IP protocol and Modbus RTU protocol is realized. According to the actual application of Wireless transceiver module, the system task part assigns the priority of the tasks and designs the order of each Wireless transceiver substation task, achieves data collection function, data processing function and data transceiver function.
