With the development of modern industry, Human Machine Interface (HMI) plays an important role in industrial production and social life. At the same time, the increasing technical problems of HMI concern the world.This paper researches on the designing of human machine interface on portalbe instrument .The key step of the designing include : designing hardware and software of the HMI , building the experiment system and making some tests on a broken pipe to prove the practicability of the HMI.This paper introduces the the current stage and development trend of HMI ,hardware and software design of HMI .The ARM based hardware , communication interface circuit, the display interface circuit on LCD monitor and the usb mass storage interface circuit .The software includes bottom software and the application software .On the beginning of the experiment ,a broken pipeline is needed .Then the signal sampled by the sampling module is sended to the HMI .Embedded linux is the operating system of the HMI .Qt is the GUI of the HMI to display the real time curve .At last HMI stores the data on a flash disk.On the same time , the data is processed by a serial algorithm. The pipeline is then located by maximum gradient point of detected normal component HP(Y)in the leakage magnetic field . Finally the location is compared with the actual crack position to get the feasibility conclusion. By large numbers of experiments, this system achieved the purpose of the experiment and validated the feasibility of this detection technique.
