With the rapid development and popularity of information technology, the remote monitoring system has become the effective tool for human, which could bring them convenient life and production, as well as stepping across time and space. Through the remote monitoring system people could know the remote-site equipment operation state and environmental information which let them conduct and make decision in time. The thesis aims at multi-source, heterogeneous network and operability requirement problems in the remote monitoring system, which has not only academic significance, but also the meaning of engineering applications. This paper carried out the following work:First of all, on the basis of in-depth analysis on present multi remote monitoring systems the thesis surmised the common advantages and shortcomings, took three parts as the developing ideas, which are solving monitoring problem under the heterogeneous network with multi-source data, providing easy-to-use user interface and to develop a set of integration virtual deal platform with multi-source data. It determined to adopt B/S mode, J2EE as development platform, oracle as database and weblogic as the web server.Secondly, based on a detailed needs analysis, the system was divided into management subsystem and control subsystem by function; It designed the system's overall framework, including the acquisition module, communication module, transaction processing module and the page display module; According to the multi-protocol communication Gateway it designed the communication protocol between the edge gateways and central server; It drew the ER diagram, and described the detailed database table structure; In accordance with the different users in the system, It accomplished the interactive Web pages design for both super-administrator and general manager.Then, using the Struts framework of J2EE it implemented the system data management and field data display on the web; In combination with Java Timer it implemented the real-time monitoring of multi-source data and incident alarm; Based on Java Socket communication mechanism it completed data communications with multi-protocol edge gateway. System used JfreeChart technology to display field data in the manner of thermometer, charts, diagrams, etc. What's more, the web pages could be refreshed from time to time by JSP. The system could even automatically perform certain operations in the unmanned once some property of operating entity has been set.Finally, tests proved that the system has met the design requirements, and well achieved multi-source data centralized monitoring and management. The thesis also described the next step about how to expand the system functions and what the development directions were.
