With the development of computer network and information technology, the digitalization of traditional media becomes common increasingly. The digitalization of media content provides a great deal of convenience for information processing, however, brings much of negative impact. As digital content is virtual, open and easy to copy, easy to distribute, it makes the digital rights management(DRM) into the solution from a technical level.In the thesis, we explain the concept of DRM scientifically and give an overview to the background, current development and challenge. Meanwhile, we show the overall framework, information framework, technical framework and system framework briefly. Combining the detailed analysis of Microsoft's existing mainstream scheme WMRM(Windows Media Rights Manager), Cryptography principles, public key infrastructure(PKI) framework and technology, we propose a PKI-based streaming media DRM system against three deficiencies in the original system, which is the user's convenience and privacy, the key's safety and rationality and the system's certification and safety. In addition, we make a detailed analysis of the new system framework, processes and the usage of U-Key and design the Key Acquisition Protocol based RSA Algorithm and ElGamal Algorithm independently, applying the blind signature. Moreover, we make a security optimization about the key generation process and propose the concept of level certification and super-client. At last, we summarize the whole thesis and make a prospect of the future development.
