Water pump efficiency is the parameter that reflects the economical performance and integrated technology index of water pump. With the development of energy saving and emission reduction in China, the enterprise which utilizes water pump needs to test the efficiency of the water pump accurately and regularly, master the utilization rate of energy and the situation of the facility, and assess the operational reasonability of the facility. At present, the domestic water pump efficiency testers have the disadvantages of low testing precision, poor real-time and reliability, and poor on-site operational ability, and further the operational interface is difficult to operate.Using the ARM embedded system; the design of water Pump Efficiency Tester is achieved. The aim is to develop a facility of pump efficiency tester which is simple to operate and convenient to bring with, and further the pump efficiency tester is able to meet the accuracy need of economical operation. It combines the technologies of computer, sensor, and data collecting and processing, and embedded system, thereby, the testing of water pump efficiency is achieved; meanwhile, the functions of testing the main parameters of the water pump, data saving, transmission and curve fitting and the like are achieved. Some important points and difficult problems such as date collecting and processing, curve fitting, database developing, and communication are discussed. Ensuring the stability and the reliability of the system, the effective anti-jam measures of hardware and software are adopted.This paper constructs a hardware platform based on ARM9 with the thinking of modularization and structure, designs a special-used analog circuit, and researches the transplant of the embedded operating system WinCE4.2. Further, the customization and translation of the core of operate system by utilizing the Platform Builder. The paper analyzes the working principle and the construction of WinCE 4.2 Bootloader, and designs the Bootloader of the facility according to the function and the hardware resources distribution of the system.The application program of Windows CE is exploited by using the development tool of application-layer and making use of embedded Visual C++ 4.0, and integrating the IDE environment. This assignment comprises the development of the amicable operational interface, the achievement of basic functions of the facility, and the exhibition of the performance parameter of the water pump. Further the paper protracts the curve of pump performance and displays, constructs the database of water pump, finally communication is achieved.After trail-producing of the sample machine, several water pumps have been tested, and the result proves that the tester has the advantages of stability and reliability, high testing precision and autoimmunization degree, and convenient management and maintenance. The tester has a good performance of technology economy.
