As the state tobacco industry's reform and development strategy is making steady headway, the tobacco firms are growing bigger and stronger through union, restructuring and mergers gradually, their framework of organizational system has a trend of integration and centralization.The change of manufacturing and operation of organizational management in this industry raised a higher level of requirements for informationization, especially in the support of information for centralized management and decision-making.The author participated in the construction of data center and market track and control system of Shanghai tobacco trade center. He did an in-depth research of the basic knowledge, methodology, solutions, and applications of data warehouse through the combination of business and data features of tobacco industry. He also researched the construction of database center in different levels of tobacco industry. At last, the author introduced the application of the database front statement through the case study of the research of goods delivery and supply conditions.In this paper, a comprehensive study of data center construction technology was conducted and the DWM five-step implementation methodology of data center projects was expounded for emphasis. The sustainable planning, development and operation were emphasized for their key role in projects, professional processes and management help guarantee the normal operation and smooth development of data center. Hereby, the risks of data center can be controlled as well as the needs of business be met. A mutual implementation enhanced the trust from businesses and created the value of data center in practice.
