With the development of science and technology information, the multi-media production and circulation is becoming increasingly easy to reach an unprecedented breadth and depth, but the subsequent illegal piracy and copyright infringement was also arrogant hot state. Then in such a high-tech development today, how should we do in order that we have an effective protection of intellectual property rights and at the same time multi-media products can be better development? Digital watermarking technology is coming into being the protection of digital multimedia products and an important means of information security.Digital watermarking (Digital Watermark) technology means that an obvious signal, usually invisible or undiscoverable, but can be detected or extracted in a calculation method, was embedded in digital products. Watermark is embedded in the source of products(such as images, audio, video, data),closely combined with them, hided but not detected with the naked eye and attacked by malicious conducts but undamaged. This multi-media technology can be an effective protection of those products about images, audio, video, and other lawful property rights.This article, based on binary image as the main study and summarized in digital watermarking technology development background and basic theoretical framework, introduces a digital watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transform domain and analysis the application of that algorithm in suitable images and watermarks.This article also introduces a algorithm based on DWT adaptive digital image watermark through using the outstanding function of wavelet transform as a JPEG standard in digital watermarking algorithm. Firstly the algorithm changes the binary image into a wavelet transform. Secondly, the algorithm chooses the optimal wavelet and designs a self-adaptive embedded process. The watermark extraction algorithm is reverse to the above process .The Matlab tests proof that the algorithm is a good transparency, stability and security and suitable for gray-scale images embedded binary watermark and a meaningful and effective protection of static gray image of the title.
