With the rapid development of the network and widely application of the multimedia technology, people could get multi-media product through Internet conveniently. Therefore, Digital multi-media security, copyright protection and integrality insurance become an urgent problem to be solved. Watermarking technology was brought up on this background. Its application field spread widely with a huge amount of research development. So the study of watermarking technology is meaningful not only in theory fields, but also in application fields.Wavelet analyze is called multi-distinguish analyze. It is a new branch driving from the Fourier transform, which is been widely used. JPEG2000 use wavelet encoded as core technology, by which it is difficult to remove watermark through JPEG compression. The wavelet multi-distinguish analyze is similar to human visual mechanism, so we can decide the embed intensity and position adaptively. It is useful to insure the balance of the invisible of embedded watermarks and the robustness of watermarking algorithm. Hence the research on watermarking technology based on wavelet transform is becoming an active research hotspot. This article mainly discusses the research on digital watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transform. Firstly, it states the theory of watermarking technology, the field of its application and some typical watermarking algorithm in details. Secondly, the wavelet transform and its application in watermarking technology are briefly introduced. Finally, it brings out three methods of watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transform: a blind digital watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transform and human visual system, a blind digital watermarking algorithm based on integer wavelet transform and chaotic map and a blind digital watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transform and neural networks.
