Under the field battle circumstance, the terrain is complex, the electromagnetism environment is bad, and the information is fast changing. It ask that the communication support must be prompt and rapid, furthermore, must be survivable and anti-jamming. In this case, Ad Hoc network becomes the principal technique for the communication support under the field battle circumstance because Ad Hoc network have strong abilities of anti-destroy and anti-jamming. Ad Hoc network doesn't depend on the network establishment and can be deployed speedily. But our country begin the research on Ad Hoc network lately, and expend very limit manpower and material resources, so the technique on it drops behind relatively. The army dose not get rid of the outdated communication means, so it need a hardly process to translate the theory fruits into battle effectiveness.This dissertation introduces the characteristics, main function, key technique and current technique difficulties of Ad Hoc network, and introduces the simulation steps, traffic modeling, and wireless modeling about the famous simulation platform OPNET. When considering the demand of the communication, the PRI of the objects are different, voice and video traffics are sensitive of the QoS parameters such as delay and delay jitter. Ad Hoc network may more easily fall into the security intimidation and attack, compared with the traditional network. So this dissertation put the emphases on the research of the QoS and security about Ad Hoc network under the circumstance of the field battle. Finally, some simulation and performance analysis about two typical applications utilizing OPNET simulation platform were finished. Those two typical applications are communication support for the position command post and frontage spying units. Through the simulation and analysis, it is obvious that the changes of the node's motion track and the addition of voice traffic have influence on the network capability.
