With the rapid development of location-based services, finding the location of the mobile phone has been one of the important features of the 3G mobile communication system. As the mainstream standard of 3G mobile communication system, WCDMA has been required to support the location-based services. Hence, the research and development (R&D) of positioning a mobile phone in WCDMA system is an important issue. In this paper, the functional model and architecture of WCDMA Location Services (LCS) system are specified. The different position location technologies are discussed and compared, and a feasible position location solution is provided. Then, TDOA radiolocation algorithm is discussed in detail. Existing algorithms are specified and analyzed, and new efficient mean's are proposed. Subsequently, simulation results are provided and a few instructive conclusions are drawn.. |
