Since it was discoveried,the frequency upconversion lunminescence of under laser pumping has attracted considerable interest,because of its application background.On is service from be found.Potassium Ytterbium tungstate is a kind of new-style self-excitation laser crystal,which can emit 1030um wavelengh of laser,and can dope different rare earth ion,to get laser wavelenth people need.Pr3+and Sm3+ could produce activation ion of upconversion light,about praseodymiun doped potassium ytterbium tungstate[for short Pr:KYbW]crystal and samarium doped potassium ytterbium tungstate[for short Sm:KYbW]crystal researched less,now there is no report at home.In this paper,praseodymiun doped potassium ytterbium tungstate and samarium doped potassium ytterbium tungstate crystal was grown by Top Seeded Solvent Growth(TSSG) method,confirmed the best processing parameter is crystal growth region axial direction temperature gradient is 0.10℃/mm,cooling speed rate is 0.05℃/h,rotational speed is 15~20r/min,pulling rate is 1~2mm/24h,annealed cooling speed rate is 15℃/h.Affirmed sample areβ- praseodymiun doped potassium ytterbium tungstate andβ- samarium doped potassium ytterbium tungstate,belong to monoclinic system,C2/c space group,has tested XRD curve of the crystal.The IR spectra and Raman spectra were be assigned,the vibration adscripion of arisen peak value was processed.The absorption spectra of samarium doped potassium ytterbium tungstate crystal indicate, absorb peak of Yb3+ is srongest at 981nm,half-peak breadth is 91nm;Sm3+ have a stronger absorb peak at 409nm,corresponding 6H5/2â†'4F7/2 transition.Excitated by 980 nm,the fluorescence spectrum of Sm:KYbW have a strongest glow at 643nm were observated, corresponding 4G5/2â†'6H9/2 transition.The upconversion fluorescence spectrum of Pr:KYbW crystal was measured,discovered Yb3+ have a obvious sensitize action for the upconversion lunminescence of Pr3+.
