At present,about 980nm semiconductor laser is important,because it can be used as a pump optical source of many new pump solid-state lasers,for example Er:YAG,Er/Yb:glass, Er:YLF,Er:Y2SiO2,Er:BaY2F8,etc.two wide-band laser of 1.55-1.66μm and 2.60-2.90μm can be obtained.In addition,980nm semiconductor laser is the most ideal pump source of erbium doped fiber amplifier(EDFA).With the rapid development of high speed and high capacity fiber communication and optoelectronic components,the coupling efficiency of 980nm semiconductor laser and single mode fiber(SMF) has become the most fundamental problem for engineers and researchers to be solved.Coupling efficiency not only affects fiber communication relay distance,but also affects the performance of EDFA.So it is very important to improve coupling efficiency and reduce its cost.According to coupling theory,the coupling of 980nm semiconductor laser with single mode fiber is to meet the mode field diameter match and the phase match.In this paper,first of all,we expound the theoretical basis of 980nm fiber grating semiconductor laser,and then,further analysis and research the characteristics of working performance through testing the 980nm fiber grating semiconductor laser.Observe the effects of temperature and current of 980nm Fiber Bragg Grating semiconductor laser.
