With the development of laser technology and photoelectron component technology, atmospheric laser communication has more and more widely used. It is greatly effected by atmosphere channel and communication distance. For it will cause the photodetector saturated or the communication interruption if the power of laser is invariable, the research on adaptive power control for laser has great important significance.In this article, based on the special channel character of Space Laser Communication, all kinds of factors (laser terminal factors and atmosphere factors) affecting the communication channel are analyzed and the connections between the channel loss and the corresponding affection factors are discussed.An adaptive power control of atmospheric laser communication system design has been introduced, which can adjust the laser power following the variation of weather to insure the communication qualityAfter the experiment, it has been proved that the adaptive power control of atmospheric laser communication is designed reasonable and reliable.
