Fingerprint identification is the most early used in the field of pattern recognition, and is also widely used in the technology of biology authentication. Auto fingerprint identification widely has useful background. At present, the fingerprint identification software based on WINDOWS operation system on the general PC and a fingerprint capturing system which is connected with PC through USB interface have been grown up, and have already begun to spread massively. On the other hand, the technology of fingerprint identification based on Embedded System, especially DSP system, is just begun not only on devise of hardware but also on algorithm software, while the algorithm in perfect performance in PC would not be simply transplanted into DSP system. However, with the development of a mobile communication and portable device, the technology of fingerprint identification will be more used in embedded devices. So, Auto fingerprint identification system base on DSP platform is studied, and which is important to the use field of DSP, offline use of the fingerprint identification, and the advance of flexibility and real time of the system.This paper introduces the developing actuality, difficulties and the direction on fingerprint identification technology, and analyses the correlation technology of capture. System core processor is DSP chip TMS320VC5409 made in TI Company, fingerprint image capturing system is pressure fingerprint sensor BLP-100 made in BMP Company in Japan, and shaping circuit and logic circuit is BCT-100 made in BMP Company. After the selection of chip is finished and basic functions of semiconductor fingerprint sensor is studied, the fingerprint collection circuit board is devised according to basic inner configuration of fingerprint sensor, and fingerprint collection realized.Another emphasis of this paper is focus on the algorithm principle of the fingerprint identification based on configuration and the following constitution parts: calculating of the fingerprint centre point, sectoring, normalizing, Gabor filtering, extracting feature and comparing, and at last implements identification algorithm of this system with Matlab7.0 program.This paper finishes feasibility exploring of the fingerprint identification system based on DSP, simulation results checking the feasibility of the system.
