The subject of this thesis is supported by the topic of Nanning Teachers College ,named "the application of image processing technology in the Optical Experiments" (200805). Image measurement technology is a modern measurement technique based on modern optics, and taking in optoelectronics, computer graphics, information processing and computer vision, etc. It's being applied in more and more fields. In recent years, it is a major trend in optical experiments to combine modern science and new technologies with basic experiments, and apply image processing technology to optical image processing.On the basis of the analysis and discussion of the predecessors' studies , in view of the defects of the traditional observation and measurement in Newton's Ring experiments, I conduct experiments to improve it. CMOS video camera and computer together with the traditional optical experimental system are used to build a low-cost digital image acquisition system. In this paper, modern image processing technology is brought into the optical experiment of general physics experiments reasonably so as to enhance the visibility of the experiment and solve the problem of observation and demonstration in experiments and improve the measurement accuracy.In this paper, to deal with double-prism interference fringe image with image processing techniques, the following is proposed. First, eliminate the noise in the interference images with morphological filtering method; second, determine the threshold image of binarization through regional filtering method and average gray-scale method, and solve the problem of the straight edge diffraction; Finally, get the single pixel of the interference fringes by the dilation ,the erosion, opening , closing operations and refinement of mathematical morphology. Thus, interference fringe centers are precisely positioned and the spacing of interference fringes is accurately measured.In this paper, modern image processing technology is brought into the optical experiments of general physics experiments reasonably. In experiments, digital imaging technology, image processing technology and traditional technology are combined together. This approach embodies the role of modern technology, enables students to learn and master the advanced experimental techniques without affecting the training of basic skills, and fully represents the advantages of the combination of traditional techniques and modern technology.
