Research On Project Schedule Management For New Library Construction Of Ocean University Of China

Ocean University of China (OUC) is a comprehensive university with its strength in oceanography and fisheries science. For increasing its developing space and realizing its goals, Ocean University of China has been building a new campus in Laoshan of Qingdao.The new library on Laoshan Campus with a floorage of 48,000 square meters has finished and been in use.It is necessary to research and evaluate the new library construction project. The analysis of the library construction project will to be the base of decision-making of later library project. New library construction project covers a wide impact on a number of factors, in particular the requirements of some university about the project is special, which makes the application of such projects in progress schedule and control is particularly important. This paper uses project management-related knowledge, taking the new library of OUC as an example to set forth the theory and methods of progress schedule and control in the application of the practical project.This paper firstly researched the theory of modern construction project management. Secondly, introduced the preliminary work of library construction, discussed the overall plan for the new library project and organizational structure. Thirdly, this paper discussed how to use progress schedule theory and method to develop the progress schedule. Fourthly, according to project schedule control theory, discusses progress control measures of the new library construction project. Finally, sum up experiences and lessons learned from the new library construction projects.
