Magnetoresistive electronic compass is a kind of device using the earth's magnetic field to achieve orientation.High precise electronic compass plays a realistic role in improving navigation positioning technology and in the development of aviation,navigation and national defense.The present magnetic compass has some problems need to be solved such as big volume,power consume,harding to compensate error.As Micro-controller widely used today, combine magnetoresistive sensor and DSP will be good an effective way to improving the performance of magnetic compass.This article is precisely on this basis to develope a three-dimensional Magnetoresistive electronic compass reluctance.After summarizing the development direction of magnetic compass and mastering the function characteristic of magnetoresistive sensor,this paper introduces the principles of the heading angle measurement,using magnetoresistive sensor.Then it describes the hardware and software designing of electronic compass in detail,baseing on magnetoresistive sensor HMC1001/2, acceleration sensor ADXL210E,Analog-digital conversion chip and DSP microprocessor TMS320C6713.Finally on a variety of possible errors in analysis, it proposes a corresponding compensation approach to improve the system accuracy,and ultimately completed the prototype electronic compass development.Experimental tests eventually show that the developed magnetoresistive electronic compass can achieve pitch angle,roll angle and heading angle measurements.The heading angle of measurement accuracy is at±4(?) between 0(?)~360(?).The compass is small volume,low weight,power consume and cost,which can be used in vehicle orientation and common navigation field after more consummation.
