Ontology mapping is to search corresponding relations between ontologies. It is the most efficient way to solve ontology heterogeneity, and is the foundation of knowledge sharing and knowledge reuse. At present, researchers have carried out a lot of research on ontology mapping in and out of China. Researchers mostly discussed ontology mapping approach in computer region, but the research on ontology mapping rules is relatively insufficient. Ontology mapping rules can guide ontology mapping approach, regulate the processing of ontology mapping, and determine whether ontology mapping can complete or not. So the author choses ontology mapping rules as research subject.Based on the research of ontology mapping in and out of China, the author presents the formalization definition of ontology mapping, breaks the traditional mode of thinking, allows to define the relations between ontologies flexibly, and classifies ontology mapping from macroscopic and microscopic view. Based on predecessor's research, sum up a set of ontology mapping rules and form a whole system of ontology mapping rules. This rule system is made up by 27 rules. Ontology mapping rules are divided into two parts, include 6 macroscopic mapping rules and 21 microscopic mapping rules. The microscopic mapping rules include 8 versatility mapping rules, 6 concept-to-concept mapping rules, 5 property-to-property mapping rules, and 2 instance-to-instance mapping rules. The paper explains the source and reasoning process of each mapping rule. In the end, the paper studies how to realize ontology mapping in ontology mapping software NeOn Toolkit and Protégé.
