With the development of higher vocational education in China, the number of students is increasing rapidly. It results in a serious problem that the number of laboratories and experimental equipments is far behind the requirements of teaching, which has greatly influenced the normal experimental teaching. In this paper, a network open labs, which is the new trend of laboratories'construction at present, has been proposed to solve this problem.The construction of network open laboratory covers many fields: electronics, network, computer, data acquisition, software design, etc.. One key principle is that the lab construction should be combined with the actual condition of our college, make full use of the current experimental resources and cultivate the creativity and practice of students through changing the experiment and management ways.This paper had a detailed introduction to the characteristics of software and hardware of the laboratory network management system and designed a framework of this system, which includes client, server and work platform. According to this framework, combining the experimental project requirements, the function of laboratories and the current teaching condition of our college, an electronic circuit network open laboratory management system is designed and developed. It consists of three parts. The first one is the laboratory center management system, which can realize the experiment reservation on the net, ID identification, the experiment information management and the real-time monitor and management of the experimental equipments and the experimental process. The second one is the students'experiment management system, which is the core of the whole laboratory system. Its main function includes the detection and management of laboratory equipments, the acquisition and processing of experimental data, the automatic scoring of experimental results, the automatic generation of experimental report and the redevelopment of experimental project. The third one is the multi-media teaching system, which is a pure software application system. It can realize the whole function of the traditional network classroom and accomplish the experimental teaching task. This paper also had a detailed analysis of the principle and the implement method of the experiment data acquisition and processing. It designed a data acquisition circuit, programmed the relevant software and developed some nucleus modules such as the experiment reservation, ID identification, automatic generation of the experimental report, automatic rating of the experimental results etc..The laboratory network management system is a multi-functional management platform which fully and reasonably makes use of the experiment resources to realize the informatization, standardization and automation of the experiment management and experiment teaching. This paper had only designed several functions of the network management system, that is experiment reservation, ID identification, experiment data acquisition, automatic generating and rating of experimental reports, etc.. It hasn't met the requirements of the practical use, which needs further development.
