With the rapid development of Chinese Train Control System (CTCS), it is required system theory to support the design, research, development, testing, evaluation and training process of the new train control system. It is cried for adopting advanced simulation technology of high reliability to supply the life-cycle services of train control system from selection design, program evaluation, product testing, and system optimization and so on. It is proposed urgent need for researching and developing of train control simulation system from railway related decision, design, and application department in different occasions. The thesis discusses the Multi-Resolution Modeling (MRM) of CTCS-3 and achieves the simulation of the model.In the study of MRM methods, the thesis analyses some influential methods such as aggregation and disaggregation, selective viewing, multi-resolution entities, and cross resolution interactions. In the view of the different application goal, the different period of system life cycle, and different personnel, the thesis mainly discusses the application of aggregation and disaggregation method and cross resolution interactions method in CTCS-3, with the different of emphasis point and the detail level for the train, the onboard equipment, the ground equipment, and the information interactive between train and ground. It is proposed the rule to divide the multi-resolution models of CTCS-3 based on the different of the information interactive detail level. The low resolution model is the scene view of train operation, which can understand the information of train position and speed sketchily. The middle resolution model is the process of information interactive between members of CTCS-3. The high resolution model is the function completion of the member, which means the process of the information production. The thesis takes the control train model as an example to build three different resolution models respectively. The low resolution model is the scene of safely driving of the train in section. The middle resolution model is the process of control train model, which implement the information exchange among Radio Block Center (RBC), Onboard equipment, and Train Control Center. The high resolution model implements the calculation of movement authority of RBC and the drawing of distance-to-go curve of Onboard equipment. It is laid the foundation for the research of CTCS-3 based on MRM with the achievement of control train multi-resolution models. At the same time, it is great significance to improve the availability, the reusability, and the interoperability of the simulation with the development of MRM research. The realization of MRM is based on High Level of Architecture (HLA) which is the highest development of Distributed Interactive Simulation technology. Software which supports Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI) is used to build the simulation of the model. After the construction of the control train multi-resolution models, the thesis builds the federation object model, and the relationships of the attribute publish/subscribe between members. While the thesis introduces the different resolution models and the program flow of the federation manager, it also introduces the design of object model for each simulation member. It is laid the foundation for the simulation realization of CTCS-3 through realized the simulation of the control train model successfully. It is indicated that HLA is suitable in CTCS-3 by the high efficiency of information exchange.
