As the speeding of Chinese railway train, the cab signal system has gradually become principal. The most important function of cab signal system is receiving signals from the rail. Reliable and real-time identification of the rail signal guarantees the safety of the train operation.At present, domestic cab signal systems are mainly based on earlier DSP and traditional software development model with a long life cycle, which failed to meet the demand of real-time, further development and cost control. Therefore a new kind of rail signal analysis system which not only satisfies the requirement of real-time and high reliability, but also reduces the difficulty of development and enhances the software portability is in need to provide a development platform for upgrading the cab signal system.A new design of rail signal analysis system based on Techv6720 hardware platform and real-time operating system DSP/BIOS is presented in this paper. Core processor of the system adopts TI Company's high-performance floating-point DSP TMS320C6720. Software design is based on DSP/BIOS real-time operating system framework. Through the configuration files, digital signal processing algorithm such as adding windows, FFT, IFFT, ZFFT and demodulation programs of rail signal using frequency and phase estimating method are configured as SWI and TSK model, which are managed and scheduled by operating system. According to the sequence of priority scheduling, this system has high reliability and real-time performance.This system is based on a friendly visual user interface which adopts RTDX transferring mode allowing real-time data transforming between DSP and the host computer.The new rail signal analysis system provides a platform for the update and development of cab signal system because of its real-time and high reliability of detecting rail signal. It's of practical significance and empirical value as the development of cab signal system.
