The mechanical analysis on human gait, as an important aspect of human motion analysis, has good prospects to be applied in medicine, biology, sports and animation producing.Although currently used methods of the gait mechanical analysis can already estimate human gait in a high precision, some expensive and complicated equipments and systems were required in these methods, and the application of gait mechanical analysis was limited by this factor. In order to overcome this limitation, in this paper a new method was proposed to analyze the mechanical features of gait only based on the time-space parameters and the basic gait parameters which were extracted from the single-camera video. By using this method, the equipments requirements can be reduced and the gait mechanical analysis can be applied in more common situations. This thesis focuses on some problems in this topic, including: Firstly, to aim at the feature of single-camera video data, a suitable mechanical model of human body was built, and a set of mathematical equations was induced based on the analysis of the model. Secondly, the relationship among the time-space parameters, the basic gait parameters and the parameters in the equations set was discussed, and then the way to calculate the parameters in the equations set was given. Moreover, the way to resolve the equations set was also discussed in this paper, and a new data structure called"edge-vertex list"was proposed as well as it related algorithms to resolve the linear programming problem. Besides the new method of the gait mechanical analysis, some key points in the visualization of the analysis results were also introduced in the end of this paper.
