Embedded Software Design For TV System

The development of television from traditional analog TV to digital processing TV, and then to digital television, digitization is the main development direction. Nowadays, the digital television is still waiting for development; the digital processing TV with digital processing capability is playing an important role. After digital processing of Analog signal, the digital processing TV greatly improved the image quality and sound quality. With the hardware of TV is becoming increasingly complex, the embedded TV software is also a higher requirements. The design quality of embedded TV software has a direct connection with the success of the entire digital TV solution.Pixelworks, professional video image processing company, is a well-known TV chip providers in television industry. In order to take more shares of television market, and according to the survey of market requirements, the company provided a highly cost-effective digital processing TV solution named Rena. The property of the television solution is low-cost, high-image quality. For this new solution, the software needs to be designed newly.This article investigated the embedded software design and the implementation of digital processing television based on Rena TV solution, and designed software architecture of digital processing television. For new hardware, the article presented the new software design of single-thread with state machine. In this paper, the implementation solution of television embedded software is provided, and the paper described the detail implementation of all software components.This article firstly introduced the necessary background knowledge, including the basic knowledge of television, the basic principles of television, the concept of digital processing TV, as well as some knowledge related to embedded software, Then described simply about the hardware resources of Rena TV solution. The third part of the article described deeply the architecture design of Rena TV system software, and provided new software design of single-thread with state machine. The last part of the article is implementation of embedded TV software of Rena, described the detail implementation of all software components.
