Research Of Diagnostic Expert System For Dairy Cow Diseases In Northern Pasture And Farming-pastoral Area Of China

Agricultural information is the main trend of current agriculture development. The Expert System can be the primary assistant for agricultural production. Nowadays, stockbreeding, especially of cow breeding, registered rapid development. A great deal of experts who engaged in cow diseases diagnosis and treatment were needed. However, the quantity and quality of these persons have not met the demand, and this handicap the development of the stockbreeding. It is not possible to solve this problem by training vets in a short time. So, the professional expert systems for cow diseases diagnosis and treatment would be a good approache to solve the contradiction.The knowledge acquisition mode was founded in this study. It was divided into 4 stages, which included choosing knowledge source, forming initial knowledge, refining knowledges and confirming knowledge bases. It was concluded that the 4-stage methods of knowledge acquisition could save time and minimize workload effectively. Based on the large and complicate theory in the dairy cow Expert System, the production rule was used in the research. It was modularization and easy to understand. The ability of inquiring and administrating was strengthened when data base was established in Expert System.This study took the hybrid reasoning strategy as the reasoning module of the expert system, and the backward chaining strategy was used in the Diseases Inquiry Module.The main innovative points of the dissertation were that both synonyms and learning module were added in the system. The expert system was designed as a framework tool and bring theoretic basis and experience to the development of expert diseases diagnosis and treatment systems for other animals.Based on the results,Expert Systems for dairy cow diseases diagnosis and treatment of Pasture and Half-Pasture Northern China was developed with Visual Basic language and Access relational database. The various methods and technique to develop Expert Systems for dairy cow diseases diagnosis and treatment in this study, are of great value in actual application.
