At present,the reverse engineering has become one of the important techniques,which realizes products can be innovated and achieved rapid manufacture meanwhile it has a broad application prospect in the field of motor vehicles,home appliances,moulds, entertainment and medical treatments and so on.As a kind of important expression form taken in the reverse engineering data model,the triangular mesh model is of great application value of the geometry model curving surface expression.There are variety of file formats of recording the triangular mesh model data,including STL files format which is one of the most common file format.Typical CAD software systems have the module which can generate STL files format..This paper sums up and analyzes the results of research completed,focusing for the STL files' reading and writing and triangular mesh model data segmentation to take the deep and careful study method and has achieved initial research results.At the aspects of the STL file reading,according to the features of STL files meanwhile combining with the features of data and the triangular mesh model process requied by the subsequent partitioning processing link,this paper takes the three-axis block as the method which can realize the STL file redundancy node points filterd and quickly establish the adjacency relations of the vertex,edge and face of triangle respectively.During the process,on the special circumstances data pre-processing problems of the narrow-long triangle are considered in details.The Paper proposed a interactive data division's method improved on the basis of the STL files' reading and implemented the division of the multi boundary areas.On the basis of receiving automatically characteristic points,the method selected the originating point and destination point of the area-boundary by interactived,by the way of comparing the nodes' features of the originating point and the destination point meanwhile comparing the vectors' separation angular to find the new boundary points.moreover,the paper designed the new seeking method of the area's internal vertexes.Basing the above-mentioned algorithm's design and study,the author applies Visual C++ to achieve the design algorithm-based MFC and OpenGL as well as via some typical examples to verify the correctness of the algorithm results.
