The representation and disposal referred to Qualitative cognitive common sense knowledge and the relations between them are researched in Qualitative Spatial Reasoning.Qualitative Spatial Reasoning is an important branch in Artificial Intelligence,and it has been widely applied in spatial data query,qualitative navigation and GIS etc in recent years.The research,analysis and discuss of the representation and obtainment of the qualitative special relations have important meanings for the research and application of qualitative spatial reasoning.The contents included in this paper are listed as follows:(1) Based on the theory of RCC and by combining Mathematics Morpholog,the Region Extension is introduced in as qualitative spatial calculus operators,then the formalism metrization methods of spatial relations are provided and the representation model based on Region Extension are extended,and describes multiple spatial relations including distances,directions etc in at flexible and various granularities.(2) Based on the formalism representation methods of region-extended spatial relations,a method using grid method to automatically obtain the topological, direction and distant relations among the areas are given.An obtaining system for qualitative relations is developed.(3) On the foundation of the composition table and constraint handle rules,the combinatorial reasoning for topological relation,direction relation,distant relation and direction relation are researched and realized by using logic programming language.(4) Based on the above works,through the simulation experiment in family living room environmen,the spatial relations among objects can be automatically obtained.Then the obtained spatial relations are used to start the qualitative spatial reasoning.The effectiveness of spatial formalized grid method based on region extension is proved.The obtainment of qualitative spatial relations based on grid method is proved to be reasonable and applicable.
