Comprehensive attention has been pay to the Er laser at 2.94um for its special wavelength and the application in medical field. Although the single-trigger Er laser has been used in many fields, there is no report on Er laser operation at high repetitive frequency. So the entire design of an Er laser operation at high repetitive frequency is presented and achieved.Based on rate equation of the foul level system, the relationship between Er laser threshold and the parameters of Er laser is discussed, and the analytic expression of output energy is obtained. Based on the conclusion, the laser material, pump source and the dielectric diaphragm is selected. The uniformity of pump beam in the cavity is tested with a method of light tracing by ZEMAX and the design and selection of cavity is achieved. The drawings of the apartments of the laser and the whole laser are accomplished by Solidworks.During the progress of the design of Er laser operation at high repetitive frequency, a new way of capsulation is discussed and the watertight condition of cavity-end-cap is optimized. The adjustment of Er laser and corresponding experiment is completed.
